What you're looking at.
The granule tones the blend is built from, how the colour is classified, and how it behaves on a roof.
The most common asphalt-shingle install nationally is a gray in this exact tonal zone. Sherwood Forest sits right inside that fairway: dark enough to feel anchored, light enough to keep the elevation breathing. The granule blend is engineered to read as a single quiet plane from the street.
Up close you can pick out three or four granule shades layered into the surface. From the street they collapse into one mid-dark gray, but the layering is why a quality asphalt roof catches light the way single-color metal never quite does.
Works well with crisp white trim, warm wood accents, and natural stone. Slightly cooler than the brown family, so it tends to pair better with blue, sage, and gray sidings than with yellow or peach.

About Sherwood Forest.
Questions homeowners ask before they commit. Answered without sales spin.
A confident, slightly cool dark gray. It reads close to black in shade and as a clean slate in direct sunlight. The granule blend has a faint cool undertone that keeps it from looking flat. On a Florida elevation with strong overhead light, expect the surface to brighten visibly compared to a cloudy day.
